House Study Bill 502 - Introduced HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. _____ BY (PROPOSED COMMITTEE ON ADMINISTRATION AND RULES RESOLUTION BY CHAIRPERSON WESSEL-KROESCHELL) A Concurrent Resolution amending the joint rules of 1 the Senate and House of Representatives relating to 2 compensation payable by the General Assembly. 3 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, 4 THE SENATE CONCURRING, That paragraph 5 of the first 5 resolving clause of the joint rules of the Senate and 6 House of Representatives relating to compensation 7 payable by the General Assembly, as adopted by the 8 Senate and House of Representatives during the 2009 9 Session in Senate Concurrent Resolution 2, is amended 10 to read as follows: 11 All employees, other than those designated 12 "part-time", shall be compensated for 40 hours of work 13 in a one-week pay period. Secretaries to senators 14 and representatives are presumed to have 40 32 hours 15 of work each week the legislature is in session and 16 shall be paid only on that basis. Full-time employees 17 who are required to work in excess of 80 hours in a 18 two-week pay period shall be allowed compensatory time 19 off at a rate of one hour for each hour of overtime 20 up to a maximum of 120 hours of compensatory time. 21 Joint security employees of the senate and house of 22 representatives may be compensated for each hour of 23 overtime at a rate of pay equal to one-and-one-half 24 times the hourly pay provided. 25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the second resolving 26 clause of the joint rules of the Senate and House of 27 -1- LSB 5730YC (3) 83 rj/nh 1/ 2
H.C.R. _____ Representatives relating to compensation payable by the 1 General Assembly, as adopted by the Senate and House 2 of Representatives during the 2009 Session in Senate 3 Concurrent Resolution 2, is amended to read as follows: 4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That part-time employees 5 shall be compensated at the scheduled hourly rate for 6 their pay grade and step. Session-only employees, 7 other than pages, are presumed to have 32 hours of work 8 each week the legislature is in session and shall be 9 paid only on that basis, unless required to work in 10 excess of 32 hours for a week.
