  1  9       STRUYK, T. TAYLOR, R. OLSON, SWAIM, THEDE,
  1 10          H. MILLER, LYKAM, COHOON, and GAYMAN
  1 11 A Resolution to honor the athletes and staff of the
  1 12    Woodward Academy for their fourth consecutive high
  1 13    school national powerlifting championship.
  1 14    WHEREAS, Woodward Academy is a 144=bed residential
  1 15 home for boys between the ages of 12 and 18; and
  1 16    WHEREAS, for the past three years the Woodward
  1 17 Academy powerlifting team, the Knights of Iron, has
  1 18 been the reigning U.S.A. Powerlifting High School
  1 19 National Champion; and
  1 20    WHEREAS, in April 2009, the Knights continued their
  1 21 winning streak with a national championship in
  1 22 Killeen, Texas; and
  1 23    WHEREAS, in that contest the team also claimed
  1 24 three individual national champions:  Trenard Powell,
  1 25 Luke Tofanelli, and Deshaun Marks; NOW THEREFORE,
  1 26    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
  1 27 That the House of Representatives honors the members
  1 28 of the Woodward Academy powerlifting team for their
  1 29 continued efforts to excel personally and as a team
  1 30 and for their fourth consecutive U.S.A. Powerlifting
  2  1 High School National Championship, and honors the
  2  2 staff of the Academy for their excellent support of
  2  3 this effort and other efforts to improve the lives of
  2  4 our youth.
