  1  1    Section 1.  Section 466A.5, Code 2009, is amended to read
  1  2 as follows:
  1  3    466A.5  ADMINISTRATION.
  1  4    The soil conservation division of the department of
  1  5 agriculture and land stewardship shall provide administrative
  1  6 support to the board.  Not more than one percent of the total
  1  7 moneys deposited in the watershed improvement fund on July 1
  1  8 of a fiscal year or fifty thousand dollars, whichever is less,
  1  9 is appropriated each fiscal year to the division for the
  1 10 purposes of assisting the watershed improvement review board
  1 11 in administering this chapter.  In addition, the board may
  1 12 authorize the division's use of interest earned on moneys in
  1 13 the fund for providing administrative support to the board.
  1 14                           EXPLANATION
  1 15    This bill relates to administrative costs to support the
  1 16 watershed improvement review board.
  1 17    The bill allows the watershed improvement review board to
  1 18 authorize interest earned on moneys in the watershed
  1 19 improvement fund to be used by the soil conservation division
  1 20 of the department of agriculture and land stewardship for
  1 21 purposes of providing administrative support to the board.
