subsection
4,
paragraph

amended
to
read
as

TRANSITION
PROVISIONS.
The
division
of
state
fire

marshal
of
the
department
of
public
safety
shall
adopt
rules

establishing
a
procedure
for
the
refunding
of
license
fees
21
remitted
by
licensees
under
chapter
103
on
a
prorated
basis
22
corresponding
to
the
period
remaining
after
December
31,
2010,
23
and
prior
to
the
license’s
expiration
date.

EXPLANATION
25
This
bill
repeals
Code
chapter
103,
providing
for
statewide
26
licensure
of
electricians
and
electrical
contractors,
as
27
of
December
31,
2010.
The
effect
of
this
repeal
would
be
28
to
return
to
the
system
of
administration
and
regulation
29
of
electricians
and
electrical
contractors,
and
electrical
30
inspections,
by
political
subdivisions
in
place
prior
to
the
31
enactment
of
the
Code
chapter.
The
bill
directs
the
division
32
of
state
fire
marshal
of
the
department
of
public
safety
to
33
adopt
rules
providing
for
refunding
license
fees
on
a
prorated
34
basis
corresponding
to
the
period
remaining
after
the
repeal

The
bill
makes

conforming
changes,
and
repeals
a
provision
which
had
required

the
plumbing
and
mechanical
systems
board
and
the
electrical

examining
board,
in
conjunction
with
city
and
county
building

officials,
to
conduct
a
study
to
determine
the
most
appropriate
5
and
feasible
manner
to
implement
a
statewide
inspection
program
6
for
work
performed
by
the
respective
licensees
of
both
boards.
