Section 483A.36, Code Supplement 2009, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 483A.36 Manner of conveyance. 3 No A person, except as permitted by law, shall not have or 4 carry a gun in or on a vehicle on a public highway, unless the 5 gun is taken down or totally contained in a securely fastened 6 case, and its barrels and permanently attached magazines are 7 unloaded. 8 EXPLANATION 9 This bill provides that a person, except as permitted by law, 10 shall not have or carry a gun in or on a vehicle on a public 11 highway, unless the gun is taken down or totally contained in a 12 securely fastened case and its barrels and permanently attached 13 magazines are unloaded. 14 A person who violates this law is subject to a scheduled 15 fine of either $25 or $50 depending on whether the violation 16 involved an assembled, unloaded gun or a loaded gun. 17 -1- LSB 1861HZ (4) 83 rh/nh 1/ 1
