is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

c.
At
the
time
the
person
became
age
eighteen
,
the
either
of

the
following
circumstances
applied:

(1)
The
person
received
foster
care
services
that
were
paid
5
for
by
the
state
under
section
234.35
and
the
person
is
no
6
longer
receiving
such
services.

(2)
The
person
received
foster
care
services
that
were
paid
8
for
by
the
state
under
section
234.35
during
all
or
a
portion
9
of
the
forty-eight-month
period
prior
to
the
person
becoming
10
age
eighteen,
the
person
was
adopted
prior
to
becoming
age
11
eighteen,
and
adoption
subsidy
payments
are
no
longer
being
12
made
under
section
600.17
on
behalf
of
the
person.

EXPLANATION
14
This
bill
relates
to
eligibility
for
the
preparation
for
15
adult
living
program
administered
by
the
department
of
human
16
services.
The
program
provides
support
to
young
adults,
age
17
18,
19,
or
20
who
were
in
foster
care
upon
becoming
age
18.
The
18
support
is
limited
to
young
adults
who
are
attending
school
or
19
instructional
programs,
or
postsecondary
training
or
education,
20
or
are
engaged
in
employment
or
seeking
employment.
21
The
bill
expands
program
eligibility
to
include
persons
who
22
received
foster
care
paid
for
by
the
state
at
some
point
during
23
the
48-month
period
before
becoming
age
18
but
were
adopted.
24
The
person
is
not
eligible
for
the
program
if
adoption
subsidy
25
payments
are
still
being
made
on
behalf
of
the
person.
