H.F. 2146 Section 1. Section 321.234A, subsection 1, Code 2009, is 1 amended by adding the following new paragraph: 2 NEW PARAGRAPH . f. The all-terrain vehicle is operated in 3 accordance with section 321I.10. 4 Sec. 2. Section 321I.10, subsection 3, Code Supplement 5 2009, is amended to read as follows: 6 3. Cities may designate streets under the jurisdiction of 7 cities within their respective corporate limits which may be 8 used for the sport of driving all-terrain vehicles. 9 EXPLANATION 10 This bill amends a provision in Code section 321I.10 that 11 authorizes cities to designate city streets which may be used 12 for the sport of driving all-terrain vehicles. The bill allows 13 cities to designate city streets for driving of all-terrain 14 vehicles for unspecified purposes. 15 The bill makes a conforming amendment to Code section 16 321.234A to specify that all-terrain vehicle operation 17 authorized by a county or city pursuant to Code section 18 321I.10 is an exception to the general prohibition against the 19 operation of all-terrain vehicles on highways. 20 -1- LSB 5785YH (2) 83 dea/nh 1/ 1
