1.
Section
522B.11,
Code
2009,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsection:

NEW
SUBSECTION
.
4A.
In
addition
to,
or
in
lieu
of,
any
3
applicable
denial,
suspension,
or
revocation
of
a
license,
a
4
person,
after
hearing,
may
be
ordered
to
complete
a
remedial
5
continuing
education
program
as
a
condition
of
the
issuance
or
6
renewal
of
an
insurance
producer
license
to
that
person.
The
7
commissioner
shall,
by
administrative
rules,
develop
a
remedial
8
continuing
education
program
for
this
purpose
and
may
establish
9
a
nonrefundable
fee
for
the
program.

EXPLANATION
11
This
bill
provides
that
an
insurance
producer
may
be
ordered
12
by
the
commissioner
of
insurance,
after
hearing,
to
complete
13
a
remedial
continuing
education
program
in
addition
to,
or
in
14
lieu
of,
a
denial,
suspension,
or
revocation
of
that
person’s
15
license
as
a
condition
of
the
issuance
or
renewal
of
an
16
insurance
producer
license
to
that
person.
The
commissioner
17
is
also
required,
by
administrative
rules,
to
develop
such
a
18
remedial
continuing
education
program
and
is
authorized
to
19
establish
a
nonrefundable
fee
for
the
program.
