is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

There
is
hereby
established
a
seven
member
3
seven-member
council
to
be
known
as
the
state
building
code
4
advisory
council.
The
council
shall
elect
from
its
membership
5
a
chairperson.
The
members
of
the
council
shall
be
appointed
6
by
the
governor
and
shall
hold
office
commencing
July
1,
1972,
7
for
four
years
and
until
their
successors
are
appointed,
8
except
that
three
initial
appointees
shall
be
appointed
for
9
two-year
terms
and
four
initial
appointees
shall
be
appointed
10
for
four-year
terms.
The
members
of
the
council
shall
be
11
persons
who
are
qualified
by
experience
or
training
to
provide
12
a
broad
or
specialized
expertise
on
matters
pertaining
to
13
building
construction.
At
least
one
of
the
members
shall
be
14
a
journeyman
member
of
the
building
trades
,
one
member
shall
15
be
a
current
member
of
the
electrical
examining
board,
and
one
16
member
shall
be
a
current
member
of
the
plumbing
and
mechanical
17
systems
board
.
Vacancies
shall
be
filled
in
the
same
manner

as
the
original
appointments.

EXPLANATION
20
The
state
building
code
advisory
council
is
a
seven-member
21
council.
The
council
advises
and
confers
with
the
state
22
building
code
commissioner
on
matters
relating
to
the
state
23
building
code.
This
bill
provides
that
the
membership
of
24
the
council
must
include
a
current
member
of
the
electrical
25
examining
board
and
a
current
member
of
the
plumbing
and
26
mechanical
systems
board.
