The
department
of
human
services
shall
adopt
rules

pursuant
to
chapter
17A
to
allow
for
reimbursement
under
the

medical
assistance
program
for
claims
initially
submitted
by

a
participating
provider
beyond
one
year
after
the
date
of
5
service
for
a
covered
service,
consistent
with
federal
Medicare
6
regulations
regarding
submission
of
claims.

EXPLANATION

This
bill
directs
the
department
of
human
services
to
adopt
9
rules
pursuant
to
chapter
17A
to
allow
for
reimbursement
10
under
the
Medicaid
program
for
claims
initially
submitted
by
11
a
participating
provider
beyond
one
year
after
the
date
of
12
service
for
a
covered
service,
consistent
with
federal
Medicare
