H.F. 2019 Section 1. Section 68B.36, subsection 1, Code 2009, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 1. All lobbyists shall, on or before the day their lobbying 3 activity begins, register by filing a lobbyist’s registration 4 statement at times and in the manner provided in this section. 5 Lobbyists engaged in lobbying activities before the general 6 assembly shall file the statement with the chief clerk of 7 the house of representatives or the secretary of the senate. 8 Lobbyists engaged in lobbying activities before the office of 9 the governor or any state agency shall file the statement with 10 the board. The chief clerk of the house and the secretary 11 of the senate shall provide appropriate registration forms 12 to lobbyists before the general assembly. The board shall 13 prescribe appropriate registration forms for lobbyists before 14 the office of the governor and state agencies. While engaged 15 in lobbying activities before the general assembly, a lobbyist 16 shall wear, in a clearly visible manner, a tag or badge bearing 17 the lobbyist’s name and designating the lobbyist as such. 18 EXPLANATION 19 This bill relates to the regulation of lobbyists engaged in 20 lobbying activities before the general assembly. 21 The bill requires lobbyists engaged in lobbying activities 22 before the general assembly to wear a tag or badge bearing the 23 lobbyist’s name and designating the lobbyist as such. 24 -1- LSB 5523HH (3) 83 tm/rj 1/ 1
