  1  1    Section 1.  Section 469.31, subsection 2, Code Supplement
  1  2 2007, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    2.  "Alternative and renewable energy" means energy sources
  1  4 including but not limited to solar, wind turbine, waste
  1  5 management, resource recovery, recovered energy generation,
  1  6 refuse=derived fuel, hydroelectric, agricultural crops or
  1  7 residues, hydrogen produced using renewable fuel sources, and
  1  8 woodburning, or relating to renewable fuel development and
  1  9 distribution any noncarbon=based form of energy production.
  1 10                           EXPLANATION
  1 11    This bill revises the definition of alternative and
  1 12 renewable energy applicable to Code chapter 469, relating to
  1 13 energy independence initiatives, to delete the list of
  1 14 currently specified forms of energy and substitute a reference
  1 15 to any noncarbon=based form of energy production.
