  1  1    Section 1.  Section 84A.6, Code 2007, is amended by adding
  1  2 the following new subsection:
  1  3    NEW SUBSECTION.  4.  The director of the department of
  1  4 workforce development, in cooperation with the department of
  1  5 revenue and community outreach programs, shall promote the use
  1  6 of the federal work opportunity tax credit and the Iowa small
  1  7 business tax deductions available to employers who hire
  1  8 ex=offenders.
  1  9                           EXPLANATION
  1 10    This bill requires the director of the department of
  1 11 workforce development to work with the department of revenue
  1 12 and community outreach programs to promote the use of the
  1 13 federal work opportunity tax credit (WOTC) and the Iowa small
  1 14 business tax deductions that are available to employers who
  1 15 hire ex=offenders.
