2 5 Sec. 2. Section 483A.8, subsection 3, paragraph b, Code
2 6 2007, is amended to read as follows:
2 7 b. A nonresident who purchases an antlered or any sex deer
2 8 hunting license pursuant to section 483A.1, subsection 2,
2 9 paragraph "e" "f", is required to purchase an antlerless deer
2 10 only deer hunting license at the same time, pursuant to
2 11 section 483A.1, subsection 2, paragraph "f" "g".
2 12 Sec. 3. Section 483A.24, Code 2007, is amended by adding
2 13 the following new subsection:
2 14 NEW SUBSECTION. 7A. A nonresident of the state under
2 15 sixteen years of age may hunt game on a hunting preserve
2 16 licensed under chapter 484B or 484C if the minor purchases a
2 17 preserve hunting license pursuant to section 483A.1,
2 18 subsection 2, paragraph "e". A minor with a preserve hunting
2 19 license is not required to exhibit a valid certificate of
2 20 completion from a state=approved hunter safety and ethics
2 21 education course if the minor is accompanied by the minor's
2 22 parent or guardian or in the company of any other competent
2 23 adult with the consent of the minor's parent or guardian, if
2 24 the person accompanying the minor possesses a valid hunting
2 25 license; however, there must be one licensed adult
2 26 accompanying each person under sixteen years of age. The
2 27 minor must have a deer hunting license to hunt deer and a wild
2 28 turkey hunting license to hunt wild turkey.
2 29 EXPLANATION
2 30 This bill allows a nonresident who is under 16 years of age
2 31 to purchase a preserve hunting license for $14.50 that allows
2 32 the minor to hunt on a hunting preserve licensed under Code
2 33 chapter 484B or 484C without completing a state=approved
2 34 hunter safety and ethics education course if the minor is
2 35 accompanied by a parent or guardian, or a competent adult
3 1 approved by the minor's parent or guardian, who possesses a
3 2 valid hunting license. The minor must purchase a deer hunting
3 3 license to hunt deer or a wild turkey hunting license to hunt
3 4 wild turkey.
