  1  1                SENATE RESOLUTION NO.    
  1  2                BY  IVERSON and GRONSTAL
  1  3 A Resolution honoring Charles F. Wasker for 50
  1  4    years of dedicated service to his clients, to the
  1  5    legislative process, and to the State of Iowa.
  1  6    WHEREAS, Charles F. Wasker was born on February 4,
  1  7 1926, in Everett, Massachusetts; and
  1  8    WHEREAS, Mr. Wasker served his country during World
  1  9 War II as a radioman in the United States Navy where
  1 10 he learned a skill that would serve him well for the
  1 11 next 50 years, boxing; and
  1 12    WHEREAS, following World War II, Mr. Wasker settled
  1 13 in Des Moines, where he luckily met an Iowa girl,
  1 14 Betty Bubon, who consented to be his wife in 1949; and
  1 15    WHEREAS, while balancing family life and his
  1 16 studies, Mr.  Wasker graduated from Drake University
  1 17 in 1951 and Drake University Law School in 1952; and
  1 18    WHEREAS, Mr. Wasker was admitted to the practice of
  1 19 law in Iowa in 1952, and in 1955 began his practice as
  1 20 a lobbyist to the General Assembly; and
  1 21    WHEREAS, Mr. Wasker has continued in that role for
  1 22 every session of the General Assembly for the past 50
  1 23 years while his wife, Betty, served for over 20 years
  1 24 as a clerk in the House and a secretary in the Senate;
  1 25 and
  1 26    WHEREAS, during that remarkable tenure, Mr. Wasker
  1 27 has demonstrated the highest standard of integrity;
  1 28 and
  1 29    WHEREAS, Mr. Wasker has ably and loyally
  1 30 represented a myriad of clients throughout his 50
  2  1 years of service; NOW THEREFORE,
  2  2    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate
  2  3 proudly honors Charles F. Wasker for his 50 years of
  2  4 service to his clients, to the legislative process,
  2  5 and to the people of Iowa.
