  1  1                SENATE RESOLUTION NO.    
  1  2                       BY  TINSMAN
  1  3 A Resolution honoring the Bettendorf High School boys
  1  4    basketball team for its 2005 4A State Championship.
  1  5    WHEREAS, the Bettendorf High School boys basketball
  1  6 team, the Bulldogs, completed the 2004=2005 season
  1  7 with an outstanding 24=1 record, and was ranked first
  1  8 in the class 4A division by the Des Moines Register
  1  9 since early February; and
  1 10    WHEREAS, even that remarkable record was topped on
  1 11 Saturday, March 19, 2005, when the Bettendorf Bulldogs
  1 12 won the 4A Boys Basketball State Championship for the
  1 13 first time since 1986, giving the team a 25=1 record
  1 14 for the season; and
  1 15    WHEREAS, members of the team have been on state
  1 16 championship football, golf, and soccer teams in the
  1 17 last year; and
  1 18    WHEREAS, the Bettendorf Bulldogs are now ranked in
  1 19 USA Today's Top 40 High School Teams; NOW THEREFORE,
  1 20    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate
  1 21 congratulates the members of the Bettendorf boys
  1 22 basketball team and their coach, Kevin Skillett, for
  1 23 an excellent season and thanks them for the honor and
  1 24 recognition they have brought to Bettendorf and to the
  1 25 State of Iowa; and
  1 26    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That upon adoption, the
  1 27 Secretary of the Senate shall prepare an official copy
  1 28 of this Resolution for presentation to Coach Skillett
  1 29 and the members of the Bettendorf "Bulldogs" boys
  1 30 basketball team.
