  1  2                      BY  QUIRMBACH
  1  3 A Resolution to recognize Holly Bender, Associate
  1  4    Professor of Veterinary Pathology at Iowa State
  1  5    University, for receiving the Teaching Excellence
  1  6    Award for Basic Sciences from the Student American
  1  7    Veterinary Medicine Association.
  1  8    WHEREAS, the Student American Veterinary Medicine
  1  9 Association is an arm of the American Veterinary
  1 10 Medicine Association and functions to advance the
  1 11 science and art of veterinary medicine, including its
  1 12 relationship to agriculture and public health; and
  1 13    WHEREAS, the Student American Veterinary Medicine
  1 14 Association includes 28 student chapters with a total
  1 15 membership of over 8,000 students; and
  1 16    WHEREAS, the Student American Veterinary Medicine
  1 17 Association has awarded Associate Professor of
  1 18 Veterinary Pathology Holly Bender the Teaching
  1 19 Excellence Award for Basic Sciences; and
  1 20    WHEREAS, the award cites Professor Bender for her
  1 21 leadership in developing Diagnostic Pathfinder, an
  1 22 innovative clinical instructional software tool; NOW
  1 23 THEREFORE,
  1 24    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate
  1 25 congratulates Professor Holly Bender for being awarded
  1 26 the Teaching Excellence Award for Basic Sciences from
  1 27 the Student American Veterinary Medicine Association
  1 28 and also for her exemplary service to the students of
  1 29 Iowa State University.
