  1  1                SENATE RESOLUTION NO.    
  1  2                       BY  PUTNEY
  1  3 A Resolution honoring the Grundy Center High School
  1  4    academic decathlon team and the Grundy Center High
  1  5    School girls basketball team.
  1  6    WHEREAS, Grundy Center, Iowa, can proudly claim
  1  7 that it has two championship high school teams in
  1  8 2005; and
  1  9    WHEREAS, the Grundy Center High School academic
  1 10 decathlon team is, for the second time in a row, the
  1 11 Area Education Agency 267 regional champion, winning
  1 12 in both 2004 and 2005; and
  1 13    WHEREAS, the academic decathlon team is the small
  1 14 school champion for 2005, placing third overall and
  1 15 besting 10 out of 12 larger schools; and
  1 16    WHEREAS, all the academic decathlon team members
  1 17 won at least one medal in the 2005 championships; and
  1 18    WHEREAS, the Grundy Center High School girls
  1 19 basketball team has won the Iowa Class 2A basketball
  1 20 championship, after being ranked the number one Class
  1 21 2A team for the entire season; and
  1 22    WHEREAS, the Grundy Center High School girls
  1 23 basketball team amassed an impressive season record of
  1 24 27 wins and only two losses; and
  1 25    WHEREAS, the Grundy Center High School girls
  1 26 basketball team also holds the district and regional
  1 27 championships for 2005; NOW THEREFORE,
  1 28    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate
  1 29 congratulates the members of both the Grundy Center
  1 30 High School academic decathlon team and the Grundy
  2  1 Center High School girls basketball team for the truly
  2  2 remarkable dual achievements and thanks them for the
  2  3 honor and recognition they have brought to Grundy
  2  4 Center and to the State of Iowa; and
  2  5    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That, upon adoption, an
  2  6 official copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  2  7 presentation to Coaches Don Osterhaus, Alan Jones, and
  2  8 Tammy Kruse, as well as the members of the Grundy
  2  9 Center High School academic decathlon team and the
  2 10 Grundy Center High School girls basketball team.
