  1  3 A Resolution honoring the actress Hilary Swank and her
  1  4    Iowa roots.
  1  5    WHEREAS, on Sunday, February 27, 2005, actress
  1  6 Hilary Swank earned a second Academy Award as best
  1  7 actress; and
  1  8    WHEREAS, Hilary's mother, Judy, grew up in
  1  9 Kellerton, Iowa; and
  1 10    WHEREAS, her father, Steve, grew up in Mount Ayr,
  1 11 Iowa; and
  1 12    WHEREAS, she has numerous family members who still
  1 13 live and work in Southwestern Iowa; and
  1 14    WHEREAS, Hilary herself is a Midwesterner, born in
  1 15 Lincoln, Nebraska; NOW THEREFORE,
  1 16    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate
  1 17 congratulates Hilary Swank for her remarkable
  1 18 achievement of winning two Academy Awards and
  1 19 celebrates her Iowa roots and connections.
