  1  1                SENATE RESOLUTION NO.    
  1  2               BY  SENG, TINSMAN, and WOOD
  1  3 A Resolution to honor the Scott County Medical Society on its
  1  4 sesquicentennial anniversary.
  1  5    WHEREAS, on October 28, 1856, 13 physicians in
  1  6 Scott County, Iowa, voted to accept a constitution,
  1  7 code of ethics, and fee bill, forming the Scott County
  1  8 Medical Society; and
  1  9    WHEREAS, for 150 years, the Scott County Medical
  1 10 Society has served the physicians of Scott County; and
  1 11    WHEREAS, for 150 years, the Scott County Medical
  1 12 Society has facilitated collegiality among physicians;
  1 13 and
  1 14    WHEREAS, for 150 years, the Scott County Medical
  1 15 Society has been a source of information on public
  1 16 health problems; and
  1 17    WHEREAS, for 150 years, the Scott County Medical
  1 18 Society has been dedicated to providing the best
  1 19 quality of care to patients and to protecting the
  1 20 health of the community; and
  1 21    WHEREAS, for 150 years, the Scott County Medical
  1 22 Society has been a referral service for the community;
  1 23 and
  1 24    WHEREAS, for 150 years, the Scott County Medical
  1 25 Society has been committed to promoting good patient
  1 26 outcomes and assisting those with serious quality of
  1 27 care concerns; and
  1 28    WHEREAS, for 150 years, the Scott County Medical
  1 29 Society has promoted the efforts of organized medicine
  1 30 at the local level; NOW THEREFORE,
  2  1    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate
  2  2 recognizes the Scott County Medical Society for its
  2  3 150 years of service to its physicians and community.
