  1  1                SENATE RESOLUTION NO.    
  1  2                      BY  BOETTGER
  1  3 A Resolution requesting that the legislative council
  1  4    conduct a study of the feasibility of implementing
  1  5    cooperative public and private development projects
  1  6    around public and private lakes in the state.
  1  7    WHEREAS, increased economic development,
  1  8 recreational opportunities, and quality of life are
  1  9 important goals to be achieved in the state; and
  1 10    WHEREAS, public and private lakes in the state have
  1 11 the capacity to serve as economic engines in the areas
  1 12 where they are located;  NOW THEREFORE,
  1 13    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the legislative
  1 14 council is requested to commission a study and report
  1 15 by an independent entity regarding the feasibility of
  1 16 implementing public and private development projects
  1 17 around public and private lakes in the state; and
  1 18    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the independent entity
  1 19 commissioned to conduct the study and report be
  1 20 directed to seek input from interested individuals,
  1 21 organizations, and public agencies; and
  1 22    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the legislative
  1 23 council shall submit a final report with
  1 24 recommendations, which may include proposed
  1 25 legislation, to the general assembly on or before
  1 26 December 15, 2006.
