  1  1    Section 1.  Section 481A.122, subsection 2, Code 2005, is
  1  2 amended to read as follows:
  1  3    2.  A person shall not hunt upland game birds, as defined
  1  4 by the department, with firearms unless the person is at the
  1  5 time wearing one or more of the following articles of visible,
  1  6 external apparel:  A hat, cap, vest, coat, jacket, sweatshirt,
  1  7 sweater, shirt, or coveralls, the color and material of which
  1  8 shall be at least fifty percent solid blaze orange.
  1  9                           EXPLANATION
  1 10    This bill provides that the requirement for wearing blaze
  1 11 orange apparel while hunting upland game birds applies only to
  1 12 a person who is hunting with a firearm.
