  1  1    Section 1.  Section 144.45, unnumbered paragraph 1, Code
  1  2 2005, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    The state registrar and the county registrar shall, upon
  1  4 written request from any applicant entitled to a record, issue
  1  5 a certified copy of any certificate or record in the
  1  6 registrar's custody or of a part of a certificate or record.
  1  7 A certificate or record maintained on the county registrar's
  1  8 intranet website is deemed to be in the county registrar's
  1  9 custody.  A county registrar may designate another county
  1 10 registrar as a designee for the purpose of issuing a certified
  1 11 copy.  Each copy issued shall show the date of registration;
  1 12 and copies issued from records marked "delayed", "amended", or
  1 13 "court order" shall be similarly marked and show the effective
  1 14 date.
  1 15                           EXPLANATION
  1 16    This bill allows the county registrar to issue a certified
  1 17 copy of a certificate or record maintained on the county
  1 18 registrar's intranet website.  The bill allows a county
  1 19 registrar to designate another county registrar as a designee
  1 20 for the purpose of issuing a certified copy.
