  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  321.282  TRANSPORT OF ILLEGAL
  1  2 NONRESIDENT ALIEN.
  1  3    1.  For purposes of this section, "illegal nonresident
  1  4 alien" means an individual who is not a citizen of and is
  1  5 illegally present in the United States.
  1  6    2.  A driver who uses a motor vehicle to transport an
  1  7 illegal nonresident alien in this state for the purpose of the
  1  8 illegal nonresident alien maintaining or seeking employment
  1  9 commits a class "D" felony.
  1 10                           EXPLANATION
  1 11    This bill relates to using a motor vehicle to transport an
  1 12 illegal nonresident alien.
  1 13    Under the bill, a driver who uses a motor vehicle to
  1 14 transport an illegal nonresident alien in this state for the
  1 15 purpose of the illegal nonresident alien maintaining or
  1 16 seeking employment commits a class "D" felony.
  1 17    A class "D" felony is punishable by confinement for no more
  1 18 than five years and a fine of at least $750 but not more than
  1 19 $7,500.
