APPROPRIATION == DEPARTMENT OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS 1 2 == IOWA GREAT PLACES PROGRAM. There is appropriated from the 1 3 rebuild Iowa infrastructure fund to the department of cultural 1 4 affairs for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2006, and ending 1 5 June 30, 2007, the following amount, or so much thereof as is 1 6 necessary, to be used for the purpose designated: 1 7 For an Iowa great places program project which is located 1 8 in a city with a population of at least twenty=five thousand 1 9 but not more than thirty thousand residents identified by the 1 10 Iowa great places board for purposes of receiving a package of 1 11 resources under the Iowa great places program, notwithstanding 1 12 section 8.57, subsection 6, paragraph "c": 1 13 .................................................. $ 500,000 1 14 Notwithstanding section 8.33, any moneys appropriated in 1 15 this section that remain unencumbered or unobligated at the 1 16 close of the fiscal year shall not revert but shall remain 1 17 available for expenditure for the purposes designated until 1 18 the close of the succeeding fiscal year. 1 19 EXPLANATION 1 20 This bill appropriates $500,000 from the rebuild Iowa 1 21 infrastructure fund to the department of cultural affairs for 1 22 the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2006, and ending June 30, 1 23 2007, for an Iowa great places program project located in a 1 24 city with a population of at least 25,000 but not more than 1 25 30,000 residents identified by the Iowa great places board for 1 26 purposes of receiving a package of resources under the Iowa 1 27 great places program, notwithstanding the definition of 1 28 "vertical infrastructure" pursuant to Code section 8.57, 1 29 subsection 6, paragraph "c". 1 30 The bill provides that any moneys appropriated in this 1 31 section that remain unencumbered or unobligated at the close 1 32 of the fiscal year shall not revert but shall remain available 1 33 for expenditure for the purposes designated until the close of 1 34 the succeeding fiscal year. 1 35 LSB 5870SS 81 2 1 rh:jp/sh/8
