  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  16.191  SENIOR HOME RETROFIT
  1  2 PROGRAM.
  1  3    The authority shall establish and administer a senior home
  1  4 retrofit program for purposes of providing financial
  1  5 assistance to elderly families to repair, improve, or retrofit
  1  6 housing to make the housing more functional and usable by a
  1  7 person sixty=two years old or older who lives in the housing.
  1  8                           EXPLANATION
  1  9    This bill creates a senior home retrofit program.
  1 10    The bill requires the Iowa finance authority to establish
  1 11 and administer a senior home retrofit program for purposes of
  1 12 providing financial assistance to elderly families to repair,
  1 13 improve, or retrofit housing to make the housing more
  1 14 functional and usable by a person 62 years old or older who
  1 15 lives in the housing.
