  1  1    Section 1.  2004 Iowa Acts, chapter 1175, section 139,
  1  2 subsection 1, paragraph b, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    b.  The general limitation on attorney fees under the
  1  4 program shall be $500 per recipient.  However, up to an
  1  5 additional $200 shall be allowed for reasonable and related
  1  6 attorney fees and other related legal expenses.
  1  7                           EXPLANATION
  1  8    This bill relates to the adoption subsidy program
  1  9 administered by the department of human services by allowing
  1 10 an increase in the amount allowed for attorney fees and other
  1 11 related legal expenses.
  1 12    The bill provides that the $500 limit established in 2004
  1 13 Iowa Acts is a general limitation and that up to an additional
  1 14 $200 shall be allowed for reasonable and related attorney fees
  1 15 and other related legal expenses.
