  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  384.37A  DELEGATION OF ENGINEER'S
  1  2 DUTIES.
  1  3    When the estimated total cost of a public improvement does
  1  4 not exceed fifty thousand dollars, the city council may
  1  5 delegate the duties of the engineer as specified in this
  1  6 division to the city clerk or other public officer or to an
  1  7 architect retained by the city.
  1  8    Sec. 2.  NEW SECTION.  384.104  DELEGATION OF ENGINEER'S
  1  9 DUTIES.
  1 10    When the estimated total cost of a public improvement does
  1 11 not exceed fifty thousand dollars, the city council may
  1 12 delegate the duties of the engineer to the city clerk or other
  1 13 public officer or to an architect retained by the city.
  1 14                           EXPLANATION
  1 15    This bill provides that if the estimated cost of a public
  1 16 improvement does not exceed $50,000, a city council or board
  1 17 of supervisors may delegate the duties of an engineer to the
  1 18 city clerk or other public officer or to an architect retained
  1 19 by the city or county.
