4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 626.76 LABOR COMMISSIONER TO
1 2 REPRESENT.
1 3 The labor commissioner, appointed pursuant to section 91.2,
1 4 may, at the labor commissioner's discretion, represent
1 5 laborers or employees seeking payment for labor or wage claims
1 6 from the receiver, trustee, or assignee, or the court, or the
1 7 person charged with the property, in accordance with and
1 8 subject to the provisions of sections 626.69 and 626.71.
1 9 Sec. 2. APPLICABILITY. This Act is applicable to all
1 10 labor or wage claims in receivership or seizure actions
1 11 pending on or after the effective date of this Act.
1 12 EXPLANATION
1 13 This bill authorizes the labor commissioner, at the labor
1 14 commissioner's discretion, to represent laborers or employees
1 15 seeking payment for labor or wage claims in pending
1 16 receivership or seizure actions.
1 17 The bill is applicable to all labor or wage claims in
1 18 receivership or seizure actions pending on or after the
1 19 effective date of the bill.
