Section 8A.505, subsection 2, Code 2005, is 1 2 amended to read as follows: 1 3 2. There is appropriated annually fromthe increase in1 4 indirect cost reimbursementsover the amount of indirect cost 1 5 reimbursements received during the fiscal year beginning July 1 6 1, 2002,to the office of grants enterprise management of the 1 7 department of management the sum of up to one hundred twenty= 1 8 five thousand dollars for the expenses of the office, and 1 9 annually for the fiscal period beginning July 1, 2006, and 1 10 ending June 30, 2008, the sum of thirty=five thousand dollars 1 11 to provide grant identification and writing assistance to 1 12 state agencies. The director shall transfer the funds 1 13 appropriated to the department of management as provided in 1 14 this subsection and shall make the fundsresulting from the 1 15 increase in reimbursementsavailable during the fiscal year to 1 16 the department of management on a monthly basis.If the 1 17 amount of the increase in indirect cost reimbursements is 1 18 insufficient to pay the maximum appropriation provided for in 1 19 this subsection, the amount appropriated is equal to the 1 20 amount of such increase.1 21 EXPLANATION 1 22 This bill deletes a provision that appropriations to the 1 23 office of grants enterprise management of the department of 1 24 management from indirect cost reimbursements to state agencies 1 25 shall only be taken from the increase in indirect cost 1 26 reimbursements over the amount of indirect cost reimbursements 1 27 received during the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2002. 1 28 Instead, the bill provides that the appropriations will be 1 29 taken from indirect cost reimbursements without qualification 1 30 relating to increases over the 2002 level. The bill also 1 31 provides that the current annual appropriation of up to 1 32 $125,000 shall be allocated for office expenses, and that an 1 33 additional appropriation for FY 2006=2007 and FY 2007=2008 of 1 34 $35,000 each year shall be made to provide grant 1 35 identification and writing assistance to state agencies.
