  1  2        BY  WESSEL=KROESCHELL, HEDDENS, D. OLSON,
  1  3                     and KURTENBACH
  1  4 A Resolution to recognize Holly Bender, Associate
  1  5    Professor of Veterinary Pathology at Iowa State
  1  6    University, for receiving the Teaching Excellence
  1  7    Award for Basic Sciences from the Student American
  1  8    Veterinary Medicine Association.
  1  9    WHEREAS, the Student American Veterinary Medicine
  1 10 Association is an arm of the American Veterinary
  1 11 Medicine Association and functions to advance the
  1 12 science and art of veterinary medicine, including its
  1 13 relationship to agriculture and public health; and
  1 14    WHEREAS, the Student American Veterinary Medicine
  1 15 Association includes 28 student chapters with a total
  1 16 membership of over 8,000 students; and
  1 17    WHEREAS, the Student American Veterinary Medicine
  1 18 Association has awarded Associate Professor of
  1 19 Veterinary Pathology Holly Bender the Teaching
  1 20 Excellence Award for Basic Sciences; and
  1 21    WHEREAS, the award cites Professor Bender for her
  1 22 leadership in developing Diagnostic Pathfinder, an
  1 23 innovative clinical instructional software tool; NOW
  1 24 THEREFORE,
  1 25    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
  1 26 That the House of Representatives congratulates
  1 27 Professor Holly Bender for being awarded the Teaching
  1 28 Excellence Award for Basic Sciences from the Student
  1 29 American Veterinary Medicine Association and also for
  1 30 her exemplary service to the students of Iowa State
  2  1 University.
