  1  2        BY  WESSEL=KROESCHELL, HEDDENS, D. OLSON,
  1  3                     and KURTENBACH
  1  4 A Resolution to recognize Joanne Olson of Iowa State
  1  5    University for being named the Outstanding Science
  1  6    Teacher Educator of the Year by the Association for
  1  7    Science Teacher Education.
  1  8    WHEREAS, the Association for Science Teacher
  1  9 Education (ASTE) serves educators involved in the
  1 10 professional development of teachers of science,
  1 11 including science teacher educators, staff developers,
  1 12 college level science instructors, education
  1 13 policymakers, instructional material developers, and
  1 14 all others interested in promoting the development of
  1 15 teachers of science; and
  1 16    WHEREAS, the ASTE acts to promote leadership in,
  1 17 and support for those involved in, the professional
  1 18 development of teachers of science; and
  1 19    WHEREAS, in that role the ASTE has named Iowa State
  1 20 University Assistant Professor Joanne Olson the
  1 21 Outstanding Science Teacher Educator of the Year; and
  1 22    WHEREAS, the award cites Professor Olson for
  1 23 excellence in teaching, developing science teacher
  1 24 education programs, research activities, science
  1 25 curricula development, and leadership in the field of
  1 26 science education; NOW THEREFORE,
  1 27    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
  1 28 That the House of Representatives congratulates
  1 29 Professor Joanne Olson for being named the Outstanding
  1 30 Science Teacher Educator of the Year by the
  2  1 Association for Science Teacher Education and also for
  2  2 her exemplary service to the students of Iowa State
  2  3 University.
