  1  1                HOUSE RESOLUTION NO.    
  1  2              BY  DIX, FOEGE, and McCARTHY
  1  3 A Resolution honoring the Wartburg College women's
  1  4    track team.
  1  5    WHEREAS, Wartburg College was founded in 1852 and
  1  6 is a nationally recognized selective four=year liberal
  1  7 arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in
  1  8 America, and
  1  9    WHEREAS, the 2005 National Collegiate Athletic
  1 10 Association Division III Outdoor Track and Field
  1 11 Championships were held in Waverly, Iowa, and hosted
  1 12 by Wartburg College; and
  1 13    WHEREAS, in the most competitive Division III
  1 14 Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships ever the
  1 15 Wartburg College women's track team won their first
  1 16 championship; and
  1 17    WHEREAS, team member Missy Buttry added to that
  1 18 victory by winning her third straight 5,000=meter run
  1 19 title and regaining the 1,500=meter run crown she won
  1 20 in 2002 and 2003; NOW THEREFORE,
  1 21    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
  1 22 That the House of Representatives honors the members
  1 23 of the Wartburg College women's track team for their
  1 24 victory in the 2005 National Collegiate Athletic
  1 25 Association Division III Outdoor Track and Field
  1 26 Championships and on behalf of all Iowa congratulates
  1 27 them on a job well done.
