  1  1                HOUSE RESOLUTION NO.    
  1  2                  BY  KUHN and SCHICKEL
  1  3 A Resolution honoring Greg Brunner and Jeff Horner,
  1  4    two of the most celebrated basketball players in
  1  5    Iowa's history.
  1  6    WHEREAS, the citizens of Iowa are justly proud of
  1  7 the many basketball accomplishments of Greg Brunner
  1  8 and Jeff Horner; and
  1  9    WHEREAS, senior forward Greg Brunner and senior
  1 10 guard Jeff Horner have completed successful careers
  1 11 with the Iowa Hawkeyes Men's Basketball Team; and
  1 12    WHEREAS, both Mr. Brunner and Mr. Horner have
  1 13 remarkable basketball career statistics and have
  1 14 earned recognition including all=Big Ten honors; and
  1 15    WHEREAS, this past year Mr. Brunner exhibited
  1 16 outstanding performance in scoring, rebounds, blocked
  1 17 shots, free throw attempts, and field goals, setting a
  1 18 school record with 990 rebounds; and
  1 19    WHEREAS, this past year Mr. Horner exhibited
  1 20 outstanding performance in assists, three=point field
  1 21 goals, and three=point attempts, setting a school
  1 22 record with more than 1,000 points, 600 assists, and
  1 23 500 rebounds in his college career; and
  1 24    WHEREAS, Mr. Brunner, a Charles City native, and
  1 25 Mr. Horner, a Mason City native, both received
  1 26 numerous awards recognizing the talent and skill
  1 27 displayed on the basketball court of their respective
  1 28 high schools; and
  1 29    WHEREAS, Mr. Brunner averaged 24 points, 15.6
  1 30 rebounds, and 7 blocked shots per game as a senior at
  2  1 Charles City High School; and
  2  2    WHEREAS, Mr. Horner averaged 31.2 points and 6.8
  2  3 assists per game as a senior at Mason City High
  2  4 School; NOW THEREFORE,
  2  5    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
  2  6 That Greg Brunner and Jeff Horner be congratulated for
  2  7 the tremendous athletic achievements they have earned
  2  8 in their basketball careers, most recently for the
  2  9 Iowa Hawkeyes; and
  2 10    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That, upon passage,
  2 11 enrolled copies of this Resolution be sent to Greg
  2 12 Brunner and Jeff Horner.
