  1  1                HOUSE RESOLUTION NO.    
  1  2                   BY  GIPP and MURPHY
  1  3 A Resolution to recognize and honor Iowans serving in
  1  4    all branches and components of the military.
  1  5    WHEREAS, Iowa contributes significant numbers of
  1  6 military personnel to the defense capability of the
  1  7 United States and such personnel are vitally important
  1  8 to our national security; and
  1  9    WHEREAS, Iowans serving in the military accept
  1 10 their role as defenders of our people's freedoms and
  1 11 rights, and continue to meet and exceed the readiness
  1 12 standards; and
  1 13    WHEREAS, Iowans serving in the military are
  1 14 continually on the vigil and ready to respond when
  1 15 called for a war, conflict, or national emergency; and
  1 16    WHEREAS, Iowans serving in the military continue to
  1 17 demonstrate their professionalism, dedication, and
  1 18 skills, as well as their patriotism and love for their
  1 19 country and the liberties, freedoms, and rights that
  1 20 it stands for as they fight the global war on
  1 21 terrorism; and
  1 22    WHEREAS, Iowans serving in the military are
  1 23 prepared to accomplish their missions in worldwide
  1 24 locations as they endure separation from their homes
  1 25 and family relationships and obligations, and missed
  1 26 special family occasions as they fulfill their
  1 27 assignments; and
  1 28    WHEREAS, the actions of Iowans serving in the
  1 29 military reflect great credit upon all the people of
  1 30 the State of Iowa; NOW THEREFORE,
  2  1    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
  2  2 That the House of Representatives recognizes and
  2  3 honors the Iowa members of the military for their
  2  4 dedication and outstanding performance of duty, and
  2  5 the House of Representatives expresses its
  2  6 appreciation to the families of Iowa's military
  2  7 members.
