  1  1                HOUSE RESOLUTION NO.    
  1  2                 BY  DAVITT and TYMESON
  1  3 A Resolution honoring the Norwalk High School Girls'
  1  4    Basketball Team.
  1  5    WHEREAS, the Norwalk High School Girls' Basketball
  1  6 Team, the "Warriors", completed the 2005=2006 season
  1  7 with a record of 26 wins and two losses, ranking
  1  8 second in the class 3=A division by the Iowa Girls
  1  9 High School Athletic Union; and
  1 10    WHEREAS, on Saturday, March 11, 2006, in front of
  1 11 almost 12,000 fans at the Wells Fargo Arena, the
  1 12 Norwalk High School Girls' Basketball Team won the
  1 13 class 3=A championship at the 2006 Iowa Girls' State
  1 14 Basketball Tournament; and
  1 15    WHEREAS, that championship was won in a
  1 16 breathtaking, come=from=behind, 54=43 upset victory
  1 17 over top=ranked Ballard Community High School of
  1 18 Huxley, Iowa; and
  1 19    WHEREAS, sophomore guard Hannah Noel made five out
  1 20 of six three=pointers in the second half and finished
  1 21 with a game=best 19 points; and
  1 22    WHEREAS, Miss Noel was named captain of the all=
  1 23 state class 3=A second team and Kelsey Cermak was
  1 24 named a member of the first team; NOW THEREFORE,
  1 25    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
  1 26 That the House of Representatives congratulates the
  1 27 members of the Norwalk High School Girls' Basketball
  1 28 Team and their coach, Brent Walker, for winning the
  1 29 class 3=A championship at the 2006 Iowa Girls' State
  1 30 Basketball Tournament and for the honor they have
  2  1 brought to their school and the residents of Norwalk;
  2  2 and
  2  3    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That, upon adoption, an
  2  4 official copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  2  5 presentation to Coach Walker and the members of the
  2  6 Norwalk Warriors High School Girls' Basketball Team.
