  1  3 A Resolution to recognize the month of April 2006 as
  1  4    Porcelain Art Month.
  1  5    WHEREAS, the art of painting on porcelain requires
  1  6 great skill, intensive training, and great artistic
  1  7 ability, producing works of exquisite beauty; and
  1  8    WHEREAS, the art of painting on porcelain has been
  1  9 recognized as a fine art by all of the world's great
  1 10 civilizations and has enriched museums in many
  1 11 countries for hundreds of years; and
  1 12    WHEREAS, the President of the United States, by
  1 13 proclamation 4772 on July 2, 1980, designated the
  1 14 month of July as a National Porcelain Art month; and
  1 15    WHEREAS, since that time, many states have also
  1 16 proclaimed a Porcelain Art month; and
  1 17    WHEREAS, Iowa has 20 organized groups of devoted
  1 18 porcelain painters who meet on a regular basis and
  1 19 hold a state convention, with the 2006 convention to
  1 20 be held April 26=29; NOW THEREFORE,
  1 21    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
  1 22 That the House of Representatives recognizes the month
  1 23 of April 2006 as Porcelain Art Month, and recognizes
  1 24 the Iowa World Organization of China Painters for
  1 25 their efforts in bringing rich beauty and expanded
  1 26 dimensions to our culture, which benefit and enrich
  1 27 the lives of all Iowans.
