  1  2             BY  MURPHY, JOCHUM, ZIRKELBACH,
  1  3                  SCHUELLER, and LUKAN
  1  4 A Resolution congratulating Dubuque Main Street
  1  5    Limited.
  1  6    WHEREAS, Dubuque Main Street Limited has been
  1  7 dedicated to the development, redevelopment, and
  1  8 ongoing support of a vibrant downtown since June 24,
  1  9 1985; and
  1 10    WHEREAS, Dubuque Main Street Limited currently
  1 11 serves seven downtown districts in Dubuque, including
  1 12 Cable Car Square, Ice Harbor, Old Main, Town Clock
  1 13 Plaza, Upper Main/Farmers' Market, Jackson Park, and
  1 14 Couler; and
  1 15    WHEREAS, Dubuque Main Street Limited works as a
  1 16 partnership between the public and private sectors to
  1 17 systematically bring about economic growth and a
  1 18 spirit of vitality to the city center; and
  1 19    WHEREAS, Dubuque Main Street Limited provides
  1 20 significant value to the citizens of Dubuque by
  1 21 managing and administering downtown efforts such as
  1 22 the Farmers' Market and Town Clock Plaza, with such
  1 23 community events as Dubuque . . . And All That Jazz,
  1 24 Historic Old Main Event, Cable Car Square Chili Cook=
  1 25 Off, Discover Downtown Dubuque Days, and Puttzin'
  1 26 Around Downtown, as well as other community events;
  1 27 and
  1 28    WHEREAS, Dubuque Main Street Limited is celebrating
  1 29 20 years of operation as the longest continuously
  1 30 operated urban Main Street Program in the United
  2  1 States; NOW THEREFORE,
  2  2    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
  2  3 That Dubuque Main Street Limited is congratulated for
  2  4 its outstanding service to the City of Dubuque and for
  2  5 its superior performance over the last 20 years.
