  1  3 A Resolution relating to Medicare reimbursement.
  1  4    WHEREAS, the state of Iowa ranks 50th among the
  1  5 states in Medicare program payment reimbursement from
  1  6 the federal government per enrollee for medical
  1  7 services provided to Iowans; and
  1  8    WHEREAS, Iowans pay the same rate to the federal
  1  9 government as do the citizens of all other states for
  1 10 Medicare services; and
  1 11    WHEREAS, the medical services provided to Iowans
  1 12 are of no lesser quality than those provided in the
  1 13 other states; NOW THEREFORE,
  1 14    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
  1 15 That the Iowa General Assembly requests that the
  1 16 federal government provide equality in Medicare to the
  1 17 citizens of all states by providing equality in
  1 18 Medicare reimbursement rates; and
  1 19    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this
  1 20 resolution be sent to the President of the United
  1 21 States, the Majority and Minority Leaders of the
  1 22 United States Senate, the Speaker, Majority Leader,
  1 23 and Minority Leader of the United States House of
  1 24 Representatives, and to members of the Iowa
  1 25 congressional delegation.
