HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION
1 A Joint Resolution nullifying an administrative rule relating to
2 the mandatory reporting of certain acts or omissions by
3 persons licensed by the Iowa board of dental examiners and
4 providing an effective date.
5 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

1 1 Section 1. 650 Iowa administrative code, rule 30.4,
1 2 subrule 24, first unnumbered paragraph, relating to the
1 3 mandatory reporting of certain acts or omissions by persons
1 4 licensed by the Iowa board of dental examiners, is nullified.
1 5 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This joint resolution, being
1 6 deemed of immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.
1 7 EXPLANATION
1 8 This joint resolution nullifies a portion of an
1 9 administrative rule of the board of dental examiners relating
1 10 to the imposition of licensee discipline. It was referred to
1 11 the general assembly for further study by the administrative
1 12 rules review committee at its meeting on January 6, 2006.
1 13 Iowa Code section 272C.4(6) requires licensees to report acts
1 14 or omissions that are grounds for revocation or suspension of
1 15 a license. The dental board rule nullified by this resolution
1 16 requires licensees to report "[a]ny acts or omissions which
1 17 could result in discipline".
1 18 The joint resolution takes effect upon enactment.
