  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  15E.21  REGIONAL BUSINESS
  1  2 ASSISTANCE COOPERATIVE.
  1  3    The department shall establish and administer a regional
  1  4 business assistance cooperative.  The department shall obtain
  1  5 access to business assistance information from entities
  1  6 including, but not limited to, community colleges, workforce
  1  7 development centers, Iowa state university of science and
  1  8 technology's extension service, small business development
  1  9 centers, and business accelerators.  The department shall
  1 10 design the cooperative to allow a person seeking assistance at
  1 11 any of the cooperating entities to access information from any
  1 12 of the other cooperating entities.
  1 13                           EXPLANATION
  1 14    This bill requires the department of economic development
  1 15 to establish and administer a regional business assistance
  1 16 cooperative.  The bill requires the department to obtain
  1 17 access to business assistance information from other business
  1 18 development=related entities operating in the state.  The bill
  1 19 requires the department to design the cooperative to allow a
  1 20 person seeking assistance at any of the cooperating entities
  1 21 to access information from any of the other cooperating
  1 22 entities.
