  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  307.31  DRIVER'S LICENSE STATIONS
  1  2 == HOURS OF OPERATION.
  1  3    Every driver's license station that is operated by the
  1  4 department and located in a county with a population of fifty
  1  5 thousand or more shall be open for business a minimum of five
  1  6 hours per day, six days per week.  This section does not apply
  1  7 to driver's license services provided by county treasurers
  1  8 under chapter 321M.
  1  9                           EXPLANATION
  1 10    This bill requires that driver's license stations operated
  1 11 by the state department of transportation in counties with a
  1 12 population of 50,000 or more must be open for business at
  1 13 least five hours per day, six days per week.
