  1  1    Section 1.  Section 68A.401, subsection 1, Code 2005, is
  1  2 amended by adding the following new unnumbered paragraph:
  1  3    NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH.  A candidate's committee of a
  1  4 candidate for statewide office or the general assembly shall
  1  5 file all statements and reports in an electronic format and
  1  6 according to rules established by the board.
  1  7    Sec. 2.  Section 68A.403, subsection 1, Code 2005, is
  1  8 amended to read as follows:
  1  9    1.  A Unless filed in an electronic format according to
  1 10 section 68A.401, subsection 1, a report or statement required
  1 11 to be filed under this chapter shall be signed by the person
  1 12 filing the report.
  1 13                           EXPLANATION
  1 14    This bill requires that all statements and reports by a
  1 15 candidate's committee of a candidate for statewide office or
  1 16 the general assembly must be filed with the board in an
  1 17 electronic format.
