  1  1    Section 1.  Section 239B.17, subsection 2, paragraph d,
  1  2 Code 2005, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    d.  Incentives, opportunities, services, and other benefits
  1  4 to aid applicants and participants, including but not limited
  1  5 to financial education.
  1  6                           EXPLANATION
  1  7    This bill relates to financial education for applicants for
  1  8 and participants in the family investment program (FIP).  The
  1  9 promoting independence and self=sufficiency through employment
  1 10 job opportunities and basic skills (PROMISE=JOBS) program
  1 11 provides the work and training components for the applicants
  1 12 and participants in FIP.  Code section 239B.17 provides a list
  1 13 of the program activities required to be provided under the
  1 14 PROMISE=JOBS program.  The bill modifies an item in that list
  1 15 to include financial education.
