  1  1    Section 1.  Section 507B.4, subsection 7, Code 2005, is
  1  2 amended by adding the following new paragraph:
  1  3    NEW PARAGRAPH.  d.  Making or permitting any discrimination
  1  4 between insureds on the basis of the sex or marital status of
  1  5 the insured in the amount of premium, policy fees, or rates
  1  6 charged for any policy or contract of insurance other than
  1  7 life, or in the dividends or other benefits payable, or in any
  1  8 of the other terms and conditions of a policy or contract of
  1  9 insurance.
  1 10                           EXPLANATION
  1 11    This bill makes discrimination between insureds on the
  1 12 basis of the sex or marital status of the insured in the
  1 13 amount of premium, policy fees, rates charged for any
  1 14 insurance policy or contract other than life, dividends, or
  1 15 other benefits payable, an unfair insurance practice.
