  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  455A.14  THE FISH IOWA! PROGRAM.
  1  2    A fish Iowa! program is established to be administered by
  1  3 the department in consultation with the department of
  1  4 education.  The program shall incorporate physical education,
  1  5 biology, geography, family and consumer sciences, and health
  1  6 into a comprehensive program that focuses on fishing and shall
  1  7 be available without charge to middle and high school
  1  8 students.
  1  9    The department, in consultation with the department of
  1 10 education, shall promulgate rules to implement the program.
  1 11                           EXPLANATION
  1 12    This bill codifies an existing program which is
  1 13 administered by the department of natural resources.  Fish
  1 14 Iowa! is an educational program designed to expose middle and
  1 15 high school students to the sport of fishing.
