  1  1    Section 1.  Section 321.234A, subsection 1, Code 2005, is
  1  2 amended by adding the following new paragraph:
  1  3    NEW PARAGRAPH.  e.  The all=terrain vehicle is operated for
  1  4 the purpose of mowing, installing approved trail signs, or
  1  5 providing maintenance on a snowmobile or all=terrain vehicle
  1  6 trail designated by the department of natural resources.
  1  7                           EXPLANATION
  1  8    This bill allows the operation of an all=terrain vehicle on
  1  9 a highway when the vehicle is operated for the purpose of
  1 10 mowing, installing trail signs, or providing maintenance of
  1 11 designated trails.  Current law prohibits all=terrain vehicle
  1 12 operation on highways, except for purposes of agriculture,
  1 13 surveying, highway construction or maintenance, or emergency
  1 14 services.
