  1  1    Section 1.  FAMILY PLANNING == GUARANTEED ELIGIBILITY.  The
  1  2 department of human services shall request a waiver from the
  1  3 federal centers for Medicare and Medicaid services to extend
  1  4 to a period of twenty=four months the guaranteed eligibility
  1  5 for medical assistance family planning services, regardless of
  1  6 the change in circumstances of a woman who was a medical
  1  7 assistance recipient when a pregnancy ended.
  1  8                           EXPLANATION
  1  9    This bill requires the department of human services to
  1 10 request a waiver from the federal centers for Medicare and
  1 11 Medicaid services to extend the period of guaranteed
  1 12 eligibility for medical assistance family planning services,
  1 13 regardless of the change in circumstances of a woman who was a
  1 14 medical assistance recipient when a pregnancy ended, to 24
  1 15 months.
