  1  1    Section 1.  Section 15E.303, subsection 4, Code Supplement
  1  2 2005, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    4.  "Endow Iowa qualified community foundation" means a
  1  4 community foundation organized or operating in this state that
  1  5 substantially complies with the national standards established
  1  6 by the national council on foundations as determined by the
  1  7 department in collaboration with the Iowa council of
  1  8 foundations.  The standards shall be substantially similar to
  1  9 but not identical to standards established by the national
  1 10 council on foundations.
  1 11                           EXPLANATION
  1 12    This bill relates to standards for endow Iowa qualified
  1 13 community foundations.
  1 14    The bill provides that endow Iowa qualified community
  1 15 foundations must comply with standards determined by the
  1 16 department of economic development in collaboration with the
  1 17 Iowa council of foundations.  The bill requires the standards
  1 18 to be substantially similar to but not identical to standards
  1 19 established by the national council on foundations.
