  1  1    Section 1.  Section 135.110, subsection 1, paragraph a,
  1  2 subparagraph (3), Code 2005, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    (3)  Recommendations regarding the prevention of future
  1  4 domestic abuse deaths, including actions to be taken by
  1  5 communities and state agencies, based on an analysis of these
  1  6 contributing factors.  State agencies referenced in such
  1  7 recommendations shall respond to the recommendations in
  1  8 writing within sixty days of the issuance of the annual
  1  9 report.
  1 10                           EXPLANATION
  1 11    This bill relates to annual recommendations regarding the
  1 12 prevention of future domestic abuse deaths by the Iowa
  1 13 domestic abuse death review team.
  1 14    The bill provides that the Iowa domestic abuse review team
  1 15 shall make recommendations for action to be taken by state
  1 16 agencies in regard to the prevention of future domestic abuse
  1 17 deaths in an annual report submitted to the governor, supreme
  1 18 court, attorney general, and the general assembly.  The bill
  1 19 requires such agencies to respond to the recommendations in
  1 20 writing within 60 days of the issuance of the annual report.
